The aspect ratio of the granules for coarser screen sizes can be altered by process adjustments if required.

Atomization of ASTM B92 GRADE 9980 specified ingots manufactured in the U.S. in an inert atmosphere creates spheres of different sizes depending upon the operational variables. The atomized magnesium powder is further processed by sophisticated screening and blending to specific customer size specifications. ESM-SMT atomized magnesium powder is produced to military specifications MIL-DTL-382D and MIL-P-14067B for military applications including customized variations to the size specifications.
